Bracket, Pairings Set For 2020 MIAA Women’s Basketball Championship

Central Missouri Earns Top Seed; Opening Round Set For Wednesday, March 4

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA has announced its women’s bracket and pairings for the 2020 MIAA Basketball Championships presented by Citizens Bank & Trust. Opening round games tip-off at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Central Missouri (24-4) earned the tournament’s top seed after it clinched the regular-season title with a record of 18-1. The Jennies will play the winner of No. 8 Washburn (17-11) and No. 9 Missouri Southern (9-17). WU and MSSU will play on Wednesday, March 4 at 12 p.m. with the winner advancing to play UCM on Thursday, March 5 at 12 p.m.

Emporia State (22-6) took the championship’s second seed as it went 15-4 in the Association. The Lady Hornets draw the winner of No. 7 Central Oklahoma (18-9) and No. 10 Northwest Missouri (11-17). The Bronchos and Bearcat tip-off on Wednesday, March at 2:15 p.m. with the winner getting ESU on Thursday, March 5 at 2:15 p.m.

The third-seed went to Nebraska Kearney (25-5) who will play sixth-seed Missouri Western (21-7) on Friday, March 6 at 2:15 p.m. Pittsburg State (17-10) claimed the fourth-seed and draws fifth-seed Fort Hays State (22-6) at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 6.
