2020 MIAA Men’s Basketball Championship Bracket, Pairings Announced

Northwest Missouri Secures Top Seed; Opening Round Games Set For Wednesday, March 4

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA has announced its men’s bracket and pairings for the 2020 MIAA Basketball Championships presented by Citizens Bank & Trust. Opening round games tip-off at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Northwest Missouri (28-1) secured the top spot in the tournament as it went 18-1 in the Association and claimed the program’s seventh-straight regular-season championship. The Bearcats await the winner of No. 8 Central Oklahoma (11-17) and No. 9 Lincoln (10-18) which will be played on Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. NW and the UCO/LU winner will play on Thursday, March 5 at 6 p.m.

Rogers State (23-5) claimed the second seed in the field as it competed as an Associate member this season. The Hillcats will play the winner of No. 7 Nebraska Kearney and No. 10 Pittsburg State on Thursday, March 5 at 8:15 p.m. The Lopers and Gorillas tip-off their first-round match-up on Wednesday, March 4 at 8:15 p.m.

Missouri Western (17-13) clinched the fourth-seed and plays fifth-seed Washburn (16-12) on Friday, March 6 at 6 p.m. The third-seed went to Missouri Southern (21-7) as the sixth-seed was slotted to Northeastern State (18-10). MSSU and NSU will play the 8:15 p.m. game on Friday, March 6.
