Harris, Krejci and Wittman Earn Volleyball Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Paula Harris (Central Missouri), Taylor Krejci (Central Missouri) and Abby Wittman (Washburn) have been named MIAA Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 18-22 as selected by a conference SID panel.

MIAA HITTER OF THE WEEK
Paula Harris, MH, Central Missouri
Harris tied her season high of 23 kills last week in a five set win over Fort Hays State, while matching her career high of eight total blocks. In just three sets against Emporia, Harris finished with four total blocks, and averaged 1.25 blocks per set for the week. Averaging 4.25 kills per set, Harris raised her season average of 3.58 entering the week. The senior from Conway Springs, Kan., ranks second in the MIAA in kills, trailing only teammate Allie Huffman. Harris' 51 kills are the most over three matches since collecting 53 in consecutive matches against Missouri S&T, Pittsburg State, and Azusa Pacific.

MIAA CO-SPECIALISTS OF THE WEEK
Taylor Krejci, L, Central Missouri
Krejci reached the 20-dig mark in all three matches this week, reaching a career-high 37 digs against Fort Hays State. The senior from Hickman, Neb., has collected double-figure digs in her past 20 matches, 15 of which have only gone three sets. Heading into the week, Krejci ranked 4th in the MIAA, and 52nd nationally, averaging 4.99 digs per set.

Abby Wittman, S, Washburn
Wittman had a pair of double-doubles as she played setter in a 6-2 rotation in two matches last week. Friday against Fort Hays State she had 21 assists and 13 digs in a 3-0 win for No. 5 Washburn. Friday against seventh-ranked Central Missouri she had 40 assists and 10 digs. The sophomore from Salina, Kan., added two kills and an ace.
