UCM Volleyball Falls to Concordia-St. Paul
Facing the four-time defending national champions, the No. 6 Central Missouri Jennies fell in straight sets to Concordia-St. Paul, 14-25, 23-25, 23-25. The loss ends the 2011 for the Jennies, who finish 30-5 overall.

Central Missouri Wins Regional Championship
In a rematch of the 2010 South Central Regional title, the No. 6 Central Missouri Jennies defeated the No. 5 Washburn Lady Blues for the second regional title in as many years.

2011 All-MIAA Volleyball Team Announced
Seven players apiece from MIAA Co-Champions Central Missouri and Washburn headline the 2011 All-MIAA Volleyball Team, released Thursday by the conference office. The selections were made by the league's 10 head coaches, and coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.

UCM Erases 2-0 Deficit, Defeats Abilene Christian
After dropping the first two sets of their NCAA-II South Central Regional first-round matchup against the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Thursday night, the Central Missouri Jennies bounced back to take the last three sets and match, 22-25, 21-25, 25-8, 25-14, 15-7.

Washburn Sweeps Arkansas Tech
Breanna Lewis and Jessica Kopp reached double figures in kills as Washburn cruised to a 25-14, 25-15, 25-21 win over Arkansas Tech in the first round of the NCAA South Central Region tournament. No. 5 Washburn (31-2), seeded second in the region, will play third-seeded West Texas A&M in a semifinal Friday at 5 p.m.

WU and UCM Share 2011 MIAA Volleyball Title
Central Missouri and Washburn won their final matches of the season Saturday to finish 17-1 in MIAA play and share the 2011 MIAA Volleyball Championship. Central Missouri will be awarded the MIAA AQ for the NCAA Division II Tournament by virtue of the second tiebreaker, “head-to-head game winning percentage between teams tied.”

Rachel Olinyk ranks fifth in the MIAA in kills per set this year with 2.97. Sydney Potts ranks fifth in the MIAA assists (8.39) and her 62 assists at Pittsburg State rank as the most in a single match this season in the league.

Miller Named MIAA Honoree for NCAA WOTY
Emporia State's Brittney Millerhas been named the MIAA nominee for the 2011 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, the NCAA announced Thursday. Miller is one of more than 140 NCAA female student-athletes representing multiple sports across Divisions I, II and III that have been selected as nominees by their athletic conferences and by independent institutions.
