Central Missouri Volleyball Falls in Regional Final

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - No. 1 seed Central Missouri lost 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 18-25, 21-25) to No. 3 seed West Texas A&M in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Final Saturday to close out the season for the Jennies. It is the sixth time this decade that Central Missouri has finished as the regional runner-up.

Central Missouri advanced to the regional final after sweeping MIAA foe Pittsburg State in the semifinals Friday night (25-23, 26-24, 25-18). No. 2 seed Washburn played West Texas A&M in the other semifinal and fell short of making it an all-MIAA final, falling to WTAMU 3-0 (17-25, 25-27, 20-25).

Eight MIAA student-athletes made the South Central Regional All-Tournament Team, including Caitlin Pankratz, Allie Huffman, Rachel Fister and Abby Gruenbacher of Central Missouri, Molly Smith and Kate Hampson of Washburn as well as Pamela Cartagena and Corrinne Stringer of Pittsburg State.
