Peniston, Stringer, Reicks Earn Weekly Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Central Missouri's Bradye
Peniston, Pittsburg State's Corinne Stringer and Nebraska-Omaha's
Angie Reicks have been named MIAA Volleyball Student-Athletes of
the Week for the week of Nov. 10-14 as selected by a conference SID
panel. Peniston, Stringer and Reicks are all first-time honorees in
2009.
MIAA VOLLEYBALL CO-HITTERS OF THE WEEK
Bradye Peniston, MH, Central Missouri
Peniston, a freshman from Wichita, Kan., recorded a team
season-high 20 kills while hitting a match high .400 in Central
Missouri's 3-2 victory over Nebraska-Omaha that clinched the
conference title for the Jennies.
Corrinne Stringer, OH, Pittsburg State
Stringer hit .365 for the week with 28 kills in 63
attempts and only four attack errors. The sophomore from Topeka,
Kan., recorded five solo blocks. Stringer led the team with 14
kills against Missouri Southern. She hit .433 in the match with
only one attack error. She added another 14 kills in the win over
Southwest Baptist. Stringer also had 13 digs for the week.
MIAA VOLLEYBALL SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK
Angie Reicks, L, Nebraska-Omaha
Reicks set a school record with 46 digs in UNO's match
against Central Missouri. The sophomore from Bellevue, Neb.,
averaged 9.20 digs per set in UNO's only match of the week.
