Washburn Sweeps Volleyball Weekly Awards
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Washburn duo Mollie Lacy and
Kate Hampson have been named MIAA Volleyball Student-Athletes of
the Week for the week of Oct. 6-11 as selected by a conference SID
panel. It is the second conference award this season for Hampson
and the first for Lacy.
MIAA VOLLEYBALL HITTER OF THE WEEK
Mollie Lacy, MH, Washburn
Lacy averaged 4.09 kills per set with a .500 hitting
percentage and 12 blocks in leading the Lady Blues to a 3-0 record
during the week. The sophomore from Lincoln, Neb., had a team-high
16 kills with a .542 hitting percentage against Missouri Southern.
Lacy had 11 kills in three-set win over Southwest Baptist and hit
.429 for the match. She tied a career-high with 18 kills and added
a career-high seven blocks in Washburn's win over Pittsburg State.
Lacy hit .515 against the Gorillas, committing only one error.

MIAA VOLLEYBALL SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK
Kate Hampson, S, Washburn
Hampson averaged 12.64 assists per set while the Lady
Blues went 3-0 over the course of the week. The senior from Fort
Collins, Colo., had 51 assists in the mid-week win over Missouri
Southern. Hampson added 31 assists and six kills in 3-0 sweep of
Southwest Baptist. She recorded her seventh double-double of the
season and 45th of her career with 57 assists and 18 digs against
Pittsburg State while also tying a career-high with five blocks in
the contest. Hampson moved into ninth place on the MIAA's career
assist list with 5,323.
