Shank, Muyskens Tabbed Athletes of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kimi Shank (Missouri Southern) and Kayla Muyskens (Central Missouri) have been named MIAA Women's Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for action from the beginning of the outdoor season through March 28 as selected by a conference SID panel. Shank and Muyskens are both honored for the second time this year.

Kimi Shank, Sr., Missouri Southern
Shank took first place in the 5K at the Florida State Relays with a time of 16:52.84. That time broke her own previous school record and is an automatic qualifying time for the 2010 NCAA Outdoor National Championships. It is also the top time in the MIAA as well as Division II this year so far. Shank, a senior from St. James, Mo., also placed second in the 1,500 meters at FSU but was the top collegiate competitor.

Muyskens won three events at the Wendy's/PSU Open. The junior from Yale, Iowa, posted NCAA provisional marks in three events while winning the shot put, discus throw, and hammer throw.  Her shot put (46-0 3/4) and hammer (164-9) marks are new Central Missouri school records.
