MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Awards Announced
One hundred and nine student-athletes earned All-MIAA honors in the sport of outdoor track & field, the league office announced Monday. All-conference honors are awarded to those student-athletes who finish in the top three in individual or relay events at the conference championship meet.

After Truman senior Katrina Biermann graduates with a degree in French and Translation, she will spend six months in France teaching elementary students English. Obviously, Biermann, a Liberty, Mo., native, is fluent in both languages to receive this opportunity.

Mieseler Set for MIAA Indoor Championships
During her days at Carl Junction High School, Emilie Mieseler wanted to play basketball in college. It was her favorite sport. Although Mieseler competed in track and field and even made it to the Missouri 3 state meet her senior year in the shot put, she figured her future lied in a leather round ball, not a steel ball.

Lindsay Lettow (Central Missouri) and Nkeiruka Domike (Nebraska-Omaha) have been named MIAA Women's Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 15-21 as selected by a conference SID panel. Domike wins the field award for the third week in a row and third time overall this season, while Lettow earns the track honor for the second time in 2010.

Pitt State's Lee to Receive Award Friday in Atlanta
Former Pittsburg State University cross country/track & field star Venessa Lee will be honored Friday at the NCAA Honors and Delegates Celebration in Atlanta, Ga., as a 2010 recipient of the NCAA Top VIII Award. It was announced Dec. 17 that Lee would be recognized.

PSU's Lee NCAA Woman of the Year Semifinalist
Pittsburg States Venessa Lee has been selected as one of 30 semifinalists for the 2009 NCAA Woman of the Year award that will be presented in October, the NCAA announced Thursday.
