Southwest Baptist Wins Women's Championship
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- No. 3 seed Southwest Baptist defeated No. 4 Northwest Missouri, 5-2, Saturday at the Plaza Tennis Center to claim the 2011 MIAA Women's Tennis Tounament Championship.
Southwest Baptist trailed Northwest Missouri, 2-1, after doubles play but rallied to win four singles matches to earn the championship.
The Bearcats' road to the championship went through No. 6 seed Truman and No. 2 seed Emporia State before Saturday's title match with Northwest Missouri.
