Gennari, Le Nguyen Earn Weekly Tennis Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Felipe Gennari (Northwest Missouri) and Trang Le Nguyen (Washburn) have been named MIAA Tennis Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of April 5-11, as selected by a conference SID panel. Gennari and Le Nguyen are both first-time honorees this season.

MIAA MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Felipe Gennari, Sr., Northwest Missouri
Gennari went 3-0 in both singles and doubles play over the week. The senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, won in straight sets in two of his three singles matches. He dropped just three games in doubles competition, and lost only one set all week.

MIAA WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Trang Le Nguyen, Sr., Washburn
Le Nguyen went a combined 4-0 at both No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles as the Lady Blues were 2-0 last week. The senior from Dak Lak, Vietnam, dropped only one game in four sets playing at No. 1 singles, topping Missouri Western's Dominique Leone, 6-0, 6-0 and then beating Nebraska-Omaha's Traci Moklestad the following day, 6-1, 6-0. Le Nguyen teamed with Alyssa Castillo at No. 1 doubles to top Leone and Kayla Daughtrey from MWSU, 8-3. Le Nguyen and Castillo then topped Moklestad and Kelsey Haas of UNO, 8-4.
