Central Missouri Shuts Out Northwest Missouri

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 1 seed Central Missouri scored three goals in the first half en route to a 4-0 victory over No. 4 seed Northwest Missouri in game four of the 2011 MIAA Soccer Championship Friday afternoon at Stanley H. Durwood Soccer Stadium on the campus of UMKC.

Kristin Bright got the Jennies on the board early as she scored off a corner kick rebound in the 10th minute to make the score 1-0.

It didn't take long for Central Missouri (18-1) to strike again as Nicki Wisnasky delivered a cross pass to Becky Lackey, who put it in the net for a 2-0 Jennies lead in the 11th minute.

In the 36th minute, Erin Robinson scored with an assist from Aaryn Burke to give Central Missouri a 3-0 lead, which the Jennies would take into the half.

Wisnasky scored the final goal of the game for Central Missouri, as Lackey returned the favor with an assist of her own and Wisnasky fired it past Northwest Missouri goalkeeper Kelsey Adams.

Central Missouri outshot Northwest Missouri for the game, 17-4, with an 8-3 edge in shots on goal.

Central Missouri advances to face Missouri Southern in the championship game Sunday at 1 p.m. Northwest Missouri ends its season with a 10-7-2 record.
