Truman Wins 2009 MIAA Soccer Championship


KANSAS CITY, Mo. - With Central Missouri's 1-0 victory Saturday over Nebraska-Omaha, Truman is the 2009 MIAA Soccer Champion. The Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 13-2-1 record in the MIAA (14-3-3 overall) and 40 points in the league standings. Nebraska-Omaha ended at 12-2-2 in the league (13-5-2 overall) with 38 points. Central Missouri came in third at 12-3-1 (13-5-2 overall) with 37 points. Truman now has nine league soccer titles in just 11 years of MIAA soccer.

Coming into the final weekend, Nebraska-Omaha was ranked No. 4 in the South Central Region, Truman was fifth and Central Missouri was No. 9. NCAA Women's Soccer Championship selections will take place Monday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. CT via a webcast selection show on NCAA.com.
