Baier, Bamvakais Named Players of the Week


KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Nicole Baier (Nebraska-Omaha) and Lauren Bamvakais (Central Missouri) have been named MIAA Soccer Players of the Week for the week of Sept. 10-12 as selected by a conference SID panel.

Baier continued her red-hot play last week against MIAA rivals Missouri Western and Truman. On Sept. 10 against the Griffons, Baier netted two goals, including what proved to be the game-winner at 37:05 of the first half. The redshirt freshman from Omaha, Neb., added an assist in the match as well. On Sept. 12 against Truman, Baier again scored two goals, including the game-winner at 14:10 of the first half. She added an assist in the match as well. Baier finished the week with ten points in two matches and now leads UNO will seven goals and four assists on the season.

MIAA SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lauren Bamvakais, GK, Central Missouri
Bamvakais played the entire 180 minutes in net for the Jennies last week. The junior from St. Louis, Mo., posted at 2-0 recorded with one shutout. Bamvakais had six saves in the two games, only allowing one goal.
