Baier, Braun Named Soccer Players of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Nicole Baier
(Nebraska-Omaha) and Jessica Braun (Northwest Missouri) have been
voted MIAA Soccer Players of the Week for the week of Sept. 3-7 as
selected by a conference SID panel.
MIAA SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nicole Baier, F, Nebraska-Omaha
Baier did not have a point in her UNO career until her
eight-point output against Central Oklahoma. It was the first hat
trick for a UNO player since Danielle McCawley netted three goals
vs. Regis on Aug. 31, 2007. It was the first eight-point showing by
a UNO player since Beth McGill scored three goals and added a pair
of assists against Minnesota State on Oct. 29, 2006.
MIAA SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jessica Braun, D, Northwest Missouri
Braun helped Northwest record its third shutout to start
the season. She ran Northwest's consecutive scoreless minutes
streak past 500 minutes before allowing a second-half goal to St.
Mary's. Braun allowed 12 shots, six on goal, in the two games.
