UNO's Ommen Finishes 34th at NCAA-II Tourney

Junior cards final-round 80 for 72-hole score of 322
FINDLAY, Ohio -- Nebraska-Omaha junior Erin Ommen shot a final round 80 on Saturday (May 16) to finish in the upper half of competitors in the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship at Findlay Country Club.

Ommen, representing the Mavericks as an individual, finished with a four-day score of 322 to finish alone in 34th place, 34 strokes over on the par-72 layout.
She was sizzling on the front side, earning a birdie on the par-five fourth hole on her way to shooting 35 going out. The back side was not as kind to Ommen, as she came in with a 45. She finished the tournament by earning a birding on the 18th hole, another par five.
Ommen finished eighth among the 12 golfers competing as individuals. There were 72 total golfers in the tournament.
Nova Southeastern (Fla.) won the team title with a score of 1230 (78-over par). Grand Valley (Mich.) State finished in second, 15 strokes back (1245). Rollins (Fla.) was third with a score of 1248.
Lyndsay McBride of Indianapolis (Ind.) was the individual medalist with a tournament score of 298, just ten over par. She closed with a 77 on Saturday. Sandra Changkija of Nova Southeastern and Charlene Reid, playing as an individual for Pheiffer (N.C.), tied for second just two strokes back.
Reid had the low round of the day on Saturday at 73, one over par.
