Pittsburg State Punches Ticket to Elite Eight
The Pittsburg State women’s basketball team has punched its ticket to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in San Antonio, Texas. The Gorillas earned the big with a 79-67 win over Emporia State in the South Central Regional final on Monday, March 12 at Lee Arena in Topeka, Kan.

Jocelyn Cummings scored a career high 27 points to propel Emporia State to a 71-65 victory over Washburn in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional in Lee Arena. With the win the Lady Hornets will head to their ninth ninth regional championship game and will play Pittsburg State on Monday night.

The Pittsburg State Women's Basketball team is one of 16 teams left in the country, as the team earned their way into the NCAA South Central Regional Final with a 68-54 victory over Northeastern State on Saturday (March 10) at Lee Arena in Topeka, Kan.

Washburn Cruises Past West Texas A&M
The Lady Blues kept West Texas A&M to four field goals in the second half as they opened the NCAA South Central Region tournament with a 68-36 win Friday in Lee Arena. Top-seeded Washburn (29-4) will play at 7 p.m. Saturday in a semifinal against the winner of the No. 4 Tarleton State/No. 5 Emporia State game. West Texas A&M ended its season at 19-10.

Emporia State Defeats Tarleton State, 64-56
Heather Robben scored a game high 19 points, including a ten of ten performance from the free throw line, to lead Emporia State to a 64-56 victory over Tarleton State in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament in Topeka's Lee Arena. The win sets up the third matchup between the Lady Hornets and the host Washburn Lady Blues this season.

Senior guard Ebonie Williams of MIAA champion Washburn has been named to the 2011-12 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-South Central Region First Team in voting of the region's sports information directors.

MIAA Lands Four in Women's Regional
MIAA regular season and tournament champion Washburn earned the South Central Regional’s No. 1 seed and will host the tournament in Topeka, while Pittsburg State, Emporia State and Central Missouri have also earned spots in the field of 64 teams for the 2012 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship, the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee announced Sunday night.
