MIAA Leads Nation in Women's Hoops Attendance

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – MIAA women's basketball games averaged 1,314 fans per game in 2009-10, leading NCAA Division II in attendance by almost 400 fans per contest. The MIAA was the only Division II conference with more than 1,000 fans per game. The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) finished second with an average attendance of 982.

The MIAA also had four of the top six schools in team attendance leaders. Fort Hays State was No. 2 in the country with an average attendance of 2,214, followed by Emporia State at 2,118. Washburn came in at No. 5 with 2,031 fans per game, and Pittsburg State was No. 6 with an average attendance of 1,926.
