UNO's Season Ends With Loss to West Texas A&M
The 15th-ranked UNO softball team saw its season come to an end after an 8-1 loss to No. 12 West Texas A&M in the championship game of the NCAA South Central 2 Regional at Lady Buff Yard on Sunday.

ESU Softball Falls to Midwestern State, 1-0
Karley Schmelzer extended her string of innings without an earned run to 29.0 straight, but an unearned run in the top of the seventh gave #5 Midwestern State a 1-0 victory over #17 Emporia State at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional-1 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Emporia State Eliminated from NCAA Tournament
The #17 Emporia State softball team was eliminated from the NCAA South Central Regional, for the second straight season in a come from behind win by Angelo State, as ASU won 9-5. It marked the third time in three season's that the Rambelle's have come from behind in a regional game to defeat the Hornets.

Missouri Western Ends Season at Regionals
Missouri Western loaded the bases in the top of the seventh inning but a Toni Dance strikeout ended Western’s threat as 12th ranked West Texas A&M came away with a 5-3 victory. Maegan Roemmich went 2-4 in the contest while Taylor Anding and Brittany Douglas blasted home runs. Western ends its season at 40-15 overall.

Nebraska Omaha Advances to Regional Final
The 15th-ranked UNO softball team will have a chance to win its first regional championship since 2007 on Sunday, after a 13-inning 2-1 victory over St. Mary's in the South Central 2 Regional semifinal at Lady Buff Yard on Saturday.

ESU Advances With 1-0 Win Over Angelo State
The #17 Emporia State softball team got a one hitter from Karley Schmelzer on the way to a 1-0 win over #21 Angelo State in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional-1 in Wichita Falls, Texas. The win avenges three straight losses by the Hornets to the Rambelles in the last two NCAA Tournaments.

UNO Edges MWSU, 6-4, at Softball Regional
The 15th-ranked UNO softball team won its first round game at the South Central 2 Regional on Friday with a 6-4 victory over the Missouri Western Griffons at Lady Buff Yard, home site of West Texas A&M University.

UNO Wins MIAA Softball Tournament Title
Alli Hukill scored on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the fourth inning to give Nebraska Omaha (45-9) a 2-1 lead over Fort Hays State (30-22), and that proved to be the final margin as the Mavericks claimed the 2011 MIAA Softball Tournament Championship over the Tigers Sunday morning at the Blue Valley Recreation Complex.

Nebraska Omaha and Fort Hays State will meet in the 2011 MIAA Softball Tournament Championship Game Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Blue Valley Recreational Complex. Nebraska Omaha needs just one win to claim the title, while Fort Hays State will need to beat UNO twice to win the tournament.

2011 All-MIAA Softball Team Announced
MIAA softball regular season co-champions Emporia State, Missouri Western and Nebraska-Omaha combined for eight All-MIAA First Team selections, and swept the five end-of-season awards to highlight the all-conference team announced Thursday by the league office. The selections were made by the league's 12 head coaches, and coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.

UNO Tabbed MIAA Softball Preseason No. 1
Defending MIAA co-champion Nebraska-Omaha was voted preseason No. 1 in the 2011 MIAA Softball Coaches Poll, the conference office announced Monday. The Mavericks collected eight first-place votes and 118 points to edge defending MIAA co-champion Emporia State for the top spot.
