Sialo, Butler Take Home MIAA XC Weekly Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Laban Sialo (Central
Missouri) and Jennifer Butler (Pittsburg State) have been selected
MIAA Cross Country Runners of the Week for the week of Sept. 11-12
as selected by a conference SID panel.
MIAA MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Laban Sialo, Fr., Central Missouri
Sialo won the individual title in his first collegiate
meet in a four-mile time of 19:58.30 at the UCM Mule Run. The Kenya
native also helped the Mules to the event championship with the top
five UCM runners in the top 12.
MIAA WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Jennifer Butler, Jr., Pittsburg State
Butler placed second overall and first among collegians
at the UCM Mule Run, leading the Gorillas to the team title. The
Bennington, Kan., native posted a time of 14:56.90 in the two and a
half mile race. PSU placed all five of its scored runners in the
top eight, finishing with a meet-low 24 points.
