Schuler, Allen Tabbed T&F Athletes of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Josh Schuler (Emporia State) and Brian Allen (Pittsburg State) have been named MIAA Men's Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of March 29-April 4, as selected by a conference SID panel. It is the second student-athlete of the week award this season for both Schuler and Allen.

MIAA MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Josh Schuler, Jr., Emporia State
Schuler recorded provisional qualifying times in all three events at the State Farm ESU Relays. The junior from Dallas, Texas, has the top time in the nation in the 100 meters and ranks fifth all-time at ESU. His 200-meter time is 10th in the nation and tops in the MIAA so far this season. Schuler ran a leg for ESU's 400-meter relay team that is seventh in the nation and the best in the MIAA. He was the top-finishing four-year collegian in both sprints.

MIAA MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Brian Allen, Sr., Pittsburg State
Allen posted a pair of victories at the FHSU Quadrangular Saturday at Hays, Kan., leading the Gorillas to the meet title. The senior from Joplin, Mo., shattered his own school records in both the shot put and the hammer throw. He established the top mark in the shot put in Division II to date with a heave of 61-09.75 feet. He also won the hammer throw with a mark of 206-01, the third-best throw in Division II to date. Allen added a fourth-place throw of 161-01 in the discus.
