2011 All-MIAA Men's Tennis Team Announced

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Three singles players and two doubles duos from 2011 MIAA men's tennis regular season and tournament champion Northwest Missouri were named All-MIAA First Team to highlight the all-conference team released Wednesday by the league office. The selections were made by the league's six head coaches, and coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.

Northwest Missouri senior Malcolm Harrison is the unanimous choice for MIAA Player of the Year after a season in which he went 20-2 at No. 1 singles and 16-1 at No. 2 doubles. The Kansas City, Mo., product was also a unanimous selection for All-MIAA First Team at No. 1 singles as well as No. 2 doubles.

Washburn's Arkadiusz Kozaczuk was named the MIAA Freshman of the Year. The Warsaw, Poland native went 3-2 at No. 1 singles and 3-2 at No. 1 doubles in conference play. Kozaczuk was also an All-MIAA Honorable Mention selection at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.

Northwest Missouri head coach Mark Rosewell was selected as the MIAA Coach of the Year for the eighth time in men's tennis after guiding the Bearcats to an unblemished 4-0 league record (19-5 overall) and the conference regular season and tournament championships.

Northwest Missouri senior Giovanni Auricchio was voted as the Sportsmanship Award winner in addition to being a unanimous pick for All-MIAA First Team at both No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.

Southwest Baptist had the second-most first team selections with four (two singles players, one doubles team), followed by Washburn with one (singles player).
