Fort Hays State Leads MSSU Invitational By Three

JOPLIN, Mo. – With an opening-round team score of 302 (+14) Monday at Twin Hills Country Club, Fort Hays State leads the 2010 MSSU Spring Invitational by three strokes over Southwest Baptist (305, +17). The MSSU Invitational is the third MIAA scoring event of 2009-10.

Northeastern State currently sits in third place after recording a team score of 306 (+18). Host Missouri Southern is tied for fourth with Southwestern Oklahoma State at 309 (+21), followed closely by Central Missouri in sixth at 310 (+22). Washburn is seventh at 312 (+24), Truman and Lincoln are tied for eighth at 313 (+25), Pittsburg State is 10th at 318 (+30), and Missouri Western is 11th at 321 (+39). Missouri Southern’s “B” team rounds out the field with a score of 327 (+37).

The second and final round of the MSSU Spring Invitational will be played Tuesday. Check www.themiaa.com for complete results following the day’s action.
