Thomann, Jeronimus Earn Weekly Hoops Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Keane Thomann (Missouri Southern) and Lizzy Jeronimus (Pittsburg State) have been named MIAA Basketball Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4 as selected by a conference SID panel.

MIAA MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Keane Thomann, C, Missouri Southern
Thomann had a career game against Truman State this week as the senior center helped the Lions set or tie two different team records. The Lions tied a mark for the fewest points scored by an MIAA opponent (43) and also broke a record for the largest margin of victory in an MIAA game (46). The Olney, Ill., native also set a new career high with 31 points in the game as he went 15-17, making his final 13 shots in a row. He had his 31 points and eight rebounds just four minutes into the second half when he sat the final 16 minutes of the game. At central, Thomann played 33 minutes, scoring 141 points and adding 10 rebounds, while going 6-10 from the field and adding a career-high five blocks. For the week, Thomann averaged 22.5 points per game, 9.0 rebounds per game, 1.0 assists and 3.0 blocks, while shooting 78 percent from the field.

MIAA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lizzy Jeronimus, F, Pittsburg State
Jeronimus averaged a double-double on the week with 17.0 points and 10.0 rebounds. The freshman from Lenexa, Kan., started the week with a double-double against Missouri Western with 10 points and 13 rebounds. She also added three assists, a block and a steal. On the road at Truman, Jeronimus scored a career-high 24 points and added seven rebounds. She also lead the team with four assists and added two blocks and a steal. She shot .522 from the floor on the week, including .400 from three-point range. She was a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity stripe against Truman and was 8-for-9 on the week. Though playing the post position Jeronimus leads the team in assists, but is also the Gorilla's second-leading scorer and is second in rebounds. She also leads the team in steals on the season.
