MIAA Tops DII Men's Basketball Attendance
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – An average of 1,691 fans per game packed MIAA men's basketball arenas in 2009-10, tops in NCAA Division II by a margin of 258 fans per game. The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference was a distant second at 1,433 fans per game.
Six MIAA schools also ranked in the top 30 team attendance leaders. Central Missouri was No. 4 in Division II with an average attendance of 2,903, followed closely at No. 5 by Fort Hays State with 2,901 fans per game. Washburn was No. 13 at 2,114 per game, Emporia State was No. 15 with 1,953 per game, Missouri Western was No. 17 at 1,866 per game, and Pittsburg State was No. 19 with an average attendance of 1,752.
