Central Missouri 89, Emporia State 79
EMPORIA, Kan. (ESU Media Relations) - Emporia State outshot No. 1
Central Missouri .534 to .475, but could not overcome turnovers and
poor free throw shooting in an 89-79 loss. ESU was outrebounded 39
to 20 in the ballgame, and turned the ball over nine times.
Tim Niles and Dustin Andrews finished with 17 points each to
lead the Hornets. Robert Moores and Holthaus added 14 points
apiece. Matt Boswell led the team with seven rebounds on the
night.
Southwest Baptist 79, Pittsburg State 75
BOLIVAR, Mo. (SBU Media Relations) -- The No. 13 SBU
Bearcats won their 36th consecutive game at home in thrilling
fashion as they held off the upset bid of the Pittsburg State
Gorillas and won, 79-75. SBU's streak is the second longest active
stretch in Division II behind Findlay's 41 games.
Tristan Steele led the Bearcats with 22 points while Matt Rogers
had 21. Tomas Brock and Kurt Koenig had 14 and 12 points,
respectively for the Bearcats. Rogers and Brock had seven boards
each while Rogers led with six blocks. The Bearcats shot 51% for
the game, including 57% in the second half. SBU also made 10 of 25
three-pointers.
C.J. Masters led the Gorillas with 22 points while Spencer Magana
had 20 points.
Fort Hays State 67 Missouri Western

HAYS, Kan. (FHSU Sports Information) -- The Fort Hays State men's
basketball team hosted Missouri Western on Saturday evening (Dec.
12) at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays. The No. 22-ranked Tigers
grinded out a 67-54 win over the Griffons. Both teams entered the
game at 2-0 in MIAA play. The win makes Fort Hays State and No.
1-ranked Central Missouri the only teams still unbeaten in
conference play.
Corbin Kuntzsch finished with a team-high 16 points for FHSU. Right behind him was Ken Bowman with 15 points. Kuntzsch also led the team in rebounds with nine. Tim Peintner had a solid effort across the board, with eight points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
Nebraska-Omaha 104, Northwest Missouri 87
MARYVILLE, Mo. (NWMSU Media Relations) -- Edriss Floyd had 20
points and hit 5-of-6 shots from three-point range to lead five
Bearcats in double figures in Northwest Missouri State's 104-87
loss Saturday night in Bearcat Arena to Nebraska-Omaha.
DeShaun Cooper had 16 points, five assists and four steals in the loss. Girod Adams and Arunas Simanavicius each had 14 points. Simanavicius also had a team-high six rebounds and a blocked shot.
Washburn 87, Truman 66
TOPEKA, Kan. (WU Sports Information) -- The Washburn Ichabods
started three true freshman for the first time in at least 25 years
and rolled to an 87-66 win over Truman.
De'Andre Washington led the Ichabods with 22 points with 12
coming in the first half. He was 3 of 6 from 3-point range. William
McNeill scored 20 points on 7 of 12 shooting while hitting 5 of 6
of his 3-point attempts. Also in double figures was Virgil
Philistin, who scored 11 off the bench.
Vesko Filchev paced the Bulldogs with 14 points. Ethan Freeman and
Alex Henderson each had 12.
Northeastern State 87 Missouri Southern 76
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (MSSU Sports Information) -- After scoring just
two points in the first half, Northeastern State's Jason Jones
scored 25 in the second half and sparked a second-half run that
vaulted the Riverhawks past Missouri Southern 87-76 in non
conference action.
Mariun Price led the Lions with 17 points on 7-15 shooting, all off the bench. DaRell Crittendon scored 13 and added six rebounds, while Jason Adams scored 11 and brought down eight boards. Keane Thomann scored ten points, while Skyler Bowlin had nine points and seven assists.
