Central Missouri to Play in 2011 Kanza Bowl

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Missouri has accepted a bid to play Nov. 27 against Lone Star Conference (LSC) representative West Texas A&M in the Lower Kanza Bowl in Topeka, Kan., the MIAA office announced.

This season will be the third annual Lower Kanza Bowl between the MIAA and LSC. Last year's game was between Washburn and Midwestern State, with the Ichabods cruising to a 45-14 victory. West Texas A&M defeated former MIAA member Nebraska Omaha in the inaugural game in 2009, 31-25.

The Kanza Bowl matches the best non-playoff team from the Lone Star Conference against a member of the MIAA. This year's game will kick off at 1 p.m. CT, on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. The game is a rematch of a first-round NCAA playoff game from last season in which Central Missouri won, 55-35.
