Christopher, Dreiling, Threatt Earn Awards
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Blake Christopher (Northwest Missouri), Nate Dreiling (Pittsburg State), and Ne'Ronte Threatt (Missouri Southern) have been named MIAA Football Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 22 as selected by a conference SID panel.
MIAA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Blake Christopher, QB, Northwest Missouri
Christopher threw for 406 yards after missing the two previous
weeks helping the Bearcats cruise to a 52-28 win over Washburn. The
senior completed 29-of-37 passes in the win and also led Northwest
in rushing with 79 yards for 485 yards of total offense. The
Kearney native made big third down plays with his legs and arm to
keep the chains moving against the Ichabods and also converted on
4th-Down twice. Christopher tossed three touchdowns in the air and
added another on the ground as he averaged 6.6 yards per carry.

MIAA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nate Dreiling, LB, Pittsburg State
Dreiling recorded a game-high 11 tackles (six solo) to
lead No. 4 Pitt State to a 38-17 victory over Central Missouri
Saturday (Oct. 22) at Audrey J. Walton Stadium. The Gorillas
limited the high-powered Mules offense to 177 passing yards –
half of UCM's season average – and 115 rushing yards in the
game. UCM managed just 68 rushing yards before the Mules managed a
late scoring drive in the fourth quarter. The sophomore from
Hutchinson, Kan., added three pass breakups to go along with his
game-high tackle total.

MIAA SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ne'Ronte Threatt, WR/KR, Missouri Southern
Threatt had a banner day against Southwest Baptist this week when
the junior returned three kickoffs for an average of 43 yards per
kick, including a 90-yard return for a touchdown late in the game.
The Texarkana, Texas, product also led the team in rushing with 79
yards on five carries, had four receptions for 94 yards and two
scores and had 302 all-purpose yards in the game.
