Thursday, Sept. 8

Washburn 66, Lincoln 26
TOPEKA, Kan. -- The No. 15-ranked Washburn Ichabods scored on their first play from scrimmage and never looked back as they set multiple first half scoring records in a 66-26 win over Lincoln in their season opener. Washburn will be back in action on Sept. 17 at Missouri Southern.

Saturday, Sept. 10

Truman 36, Fort Hays State 31
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – J.B. Clark's one-yard touchdown plunge early in fourth quarter gave the Truman Bulldogs a 36-31 victory over Fort Hays State (Kan.) on Saturday afternoon at Stokes Stadium. Truman scored 13 points in the final 15 minutes to even their record at 1-1.

Northwest Missouri 52, Sioux Falls (S.D.) 17
MARYVILLE, Mo. - With all the pomp and circumstance surrounding the home opener for Northwest Missouri State the Bearcats shook their nerves as they cruised to a, 52-17 win over Sioux Falls on Saturday night at Bearcat Stadium in front of 7,640 fans.

Missouri Western 23, Central Missouri 6 
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Missouri Western's defensive line gave the 12th ranked Central Missouri Mules fits all night in front of 6,251 fans finishing with seven sacks and nine tackles for a loss in the 23-6 victory. Junior defensive end David Bass tied a MWSU single game record with four sacks as Josh Charles did it back on September 25, 1999 against Washburn. Ben Pister had two sacks while Austin Baska finished with one. The Griffons sit at 1-1 on the season and 1-1 in the MIAA.

Pittsburg State 38, Emporia State 14 
PITTSBURG -- Solomon Watkins scored three rushing touchdowns in his first collegiate start to help No. 25 ranked Pitt State muscle past Emporia State, 38-14, Saturday (Sept. 10) before a sellout crowd of 8,637 fans at Brandenburg Field/Carnie Smith Stadium.
