Central Missouri Headed Back to World Series
SAN ANTONIO, Texas (UCM Media Relations) -- Central Missouri picked up a 7-0 victory over Incarnate Word in the championship round of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional to nail down a return trip to the NCAA Division II World Series in Cary, N.C., starting Saturday.
Matt Curtis tossed a four-hit shutout to win his 11th game of the season, and was named the regional MVP, as the Mules improved to 49-8 and won their 16th regional championship in program history.
Curtis was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Albert Selanders, Nick DeBiasse, Bret Schwartz, Don Lisi, Travis Unthank, and Jon Wegener .
Mules will open play in the NCAA Division II Championships on Saturday against the winner of the Central Region at 1 p.m. (EDT).
