UCM, ESU Earn South Central Regional Bids

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Central Missouri and Emporia State will represent the MIAA in the 2011 NCAA Division II South Central Regional, the NCAA Division II Baseball Committee announced Sunday night. The regional will be played in San Antonio, Texas, hosted by St. Mary's (Texas).

Central Missouri, the MIAA Tournament Champion and automatic qualifier, earned the No. 2 seed and will play No. 5 seed Tarleton State on Thursday. Emporia State will be the No. 3 seed and face off with No. 4 seed Southeastern Oklahoma State on Thursday.

All regionals are double-elimination tournaments and will be played at on-campus sites May 19-23. Regional champions will advance to the double-elimination championship finals May 28-June 4 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.  The finals will be hosted by Mount Olive College and the town of Cary, N.C.
