Three MIAA Schools Earn Regional Berths

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Missouri will host the 2010 NCAA Division II Baseball South Central Regional as the No. 1 seed, the NCAA Division II Baseball Committee announced Sunday night. Emporia State will be the No. 3 seed in the regional, while Nebraska-Omaha will be the sixth seed.
 
A total of 48 teams will participate in the 2010 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.

The championship provides for eight regional sites - six sites will host six teams, the West region will host four teams and the South region will host eight teams. All regionals are double-elimination tournaments and will be played at on-campus sites May 13-17.
 
Regional champions will advance to the double-elimination championship finals May 22-29 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. The finals will be hosted by Mount Olive College and the town of Cary, North Carolina.

Nineteen conferences receive automatic qualification into the 2010 championship. Each conference and its automatic qualifier are listed below:

In the 2009 championship, Lynn University captured its first national championship title with a 2-1 victory over Emporia State University.

This year marks the 43rd annual championship, and the second consecutive year that the finals have been held in Cary, North Carolina.
