Lundy, Bartholomew Win Weekly Baseball Awards
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Tyler Lundy
(Nebraska-Omaha) and Sean Bartholomew (Fort Hays State) have been
named MIAA Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of
March 2-7 as selected by a conference SID panel. Lundy and
Bartholomew are first-time honorees in 2010.
MIAA BASEBALL HITTER OF THE WEEK
Tyler Lundy, OF, Nebraska-Omaha
Lundy went 9-for-18 with two home runs, two doubles, a
triple and 11 RBIs with a 1.056 slugging percentage this past
weekend. The senior from Minot, N.D., is hitting .500 on the year
with a team-leading 16 RBIs and three HRs. Lundy is tied for first
with 17 hits on the team this season.
MIAA BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Sean Bartholomew, LHP, Fort Hays State
Bartholomew had a no-hitter through 5.1 innings of a
seven-inning game with Emporia State. His effort led to a 3-0
shutout of the Hornets in the second game of the series. The senior
from Beatrice, Neb., struck out eight batters and walked just two.
He was pulled immediately after he gave up his only hit, and Mat
Atkinson worked the final 1.2 innings for a save.
