LINCOLN, Neb. - Top-seeded and 10th ranked-nationally Southwest Baptist won the 2018 MIAA Men’s Tennis Championship with a 5-1 victory over No. 37 Washburn at the Dillon Tennis Center. SBU secures the MIAA’s automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

Southwest Baptist swept all three doubles matches to propel itself to the title. The Bearcats earned their fourth win with a 6-1, 6-1 win in No. 1 singles by Sherif Abohabaga. Washburn got on the board when Chase Brill took No. 6 singles in straight sets. SBU clinched the match at No. 5 singles with a 6-2, 6-3 win. The Ichabods finish the season with a record of 12-5.
