MIAA ANNOUNCES WOMEN'S SOCCER ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR 9/12/17

Kansas City, Mo. (September 12, 2017) – Missouri Western’s Cassidy Menke and Central Missouri’s Ana Dilkes have repeated as MIAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Athlete and Goalkeeper of the Week. Joining them is Northeastern State’s Emily Seiler who earned Defensive Athlete of the Week honors.

MIAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week
Cassidy Menke, F, Missouri Western

Menke became MWSU’s all-time leader in goals and points with three goals on a road trip to South Dakota last weekend. Menke broke the goals record and tied the points record with a goal Friday at Northern State then padded her goals lead along with breaking the points record with two goals Sunday at Sioux Falls. On the weekend, Menke scored three goals on five shots on goal, 12 shots total. The 5-9 junior forward is a native of O’Fallon, Mo. where she competed at Fort Zumwalt North High School.

MIAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week
Emily Seiler, D, Northeastern State

Seiler is part of an NSU defense that has not allowed a goal the first four matches this season, which is the first time this happened in the program since 2012. She played the full 90 minutes in both of their wins and on Sunday she slowed an Ouachita Baptist offense to only two shots on goal. The 5-5 sophomore defender is a native of Rogers, Ark. where she competed at Rogers Heritage High School.

MIAA Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Ana Dilkes, GK, Central Missouri

Dilkes posted back-to-back shutouts for the second straight week as UCM defeated St. Cloud State and Winona State 2-0 and 4-0, respectively. For the weekend, she had eight total saves as the fourth-ranked Jennies improved to 4-0 on the season. In net, Dilkes has yet to allow a goal this season, and her shutout against Winona State was her 47th career shutout, which now ranks her third all-time in NCAA Division II history. The 5-7 senior goalkeeper is a native of Wichita, Kan. where she competed at Andover High School.
