Bolivar, Mo. – The Pittsburg State women won the MIAA Tournament by over 100 points as they scored 212 points to claim the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship. On the men’s side Central Missouri and Lincoln tied with 135 points a piece to be the MIAA Co-Champions.
On the women’s side Missouri Southern was second with Central Missouri finishing third. Southwest Baptist was fourth overall with Fort Hays State rounding out the top five.
In the men’s final standings Missouri Southern was just nine points behind the leaders to finish third. Pittsburg State earned fourth place with Fort Hays State rounding out the top five men’s teams.

Emily Dearman of Pittsburg State earned 37.25 points to claim the women’s high point award while Vincent Kiprop of Missouri Southern scored 28 points to earn the men’s honor.
The day opened with the men’s triple jump as Missouri Southern Kennan Harrison jumped 48’ 4.75” at win the title. Asa Carter of Southwest Baptist came in second with Brendan Watkins of Missouri Southern finishing in third. In the women’s triple jump Diana Cauldwell of Lincoln jumped 41’ 7” to earn the MIAA championship. Earning All-MIAA honors in second and third were Lindenwood’s Kendra Smith and Missouri Southern’s Allie Heckmeyer.
In the men’s javelin Daniel Hernandez of Missouri Southern threw 225’ 7” to win the league championship. Chris Swearingin of Central Missouri placed second with Pittsburg State’s Creighton Sanders coming in third. In the women’s event Alexcia Deutscher of Fort Hays State had a 147’ 7” mark to claim the top spot on the podium. Shelley Laures of Northwest Missouri came in second and Allyn Murray of Pittsburg State rounded out the top three.
In the women’s high jump Natalie O’Keefe cleared 5’ 8.75” to win the MIAA Championship. Emilyn Dearman of Pittsburg State earned All-MIAA status finishing second as did Lindenwood’s Anna Ryan who finished third. In the men’s discipline Alexander Templeton of Lincoln cleared 6’ 10.75” to win the MIAA title. Kolt Newell of Fort Hays State finished in second with Lindenwood’s Akintunde Akinyemi
In the women’s hammer Mariah Garcia of Central Oklahoma claimed her second league title with a 181’ 9” toss. Michelle Kyle of Lindenwood came in second with Amy Dorge of Central Missouri rounding out the top three. In the men’s event Jace Kaleikau of Central Missouri earned the top spot with a 200’ 5” throw. Nathan Liby and Ben Hanson made it a 1-2-3 finish for the Mules.
Things got going on the track with the 4x100 meter relay which Pittsburg State won with a 45.50 pace. Lincoln earned second place with Emporia State rounding out the top three and earning All-MIAA status. In the men’s race Lincoln turned in a 40.51 to earn the MIAA crown. Missouri Southern finished in second place with Central Missouri placing third.
In the women’s steeplechase an MIAA meet record fell as Morgan Benesch broke a record set last year by running the race at a 10:34.95 pace. Carlin Greene of Pittsburg State earned second place with Emily Schoenfeld of Emporia State coming in third. In the men’s race Omar Es Salmouny of Lindenwood set a pace of 9:14.76 to claim the title. Kelvin Keter of Washburn finished second with Dominick Fonseca of Pittsburg State rounding out the top three.
In the women’s 1500-meter run Courtney Rogers of Central Missouri finished in 4:53.97 to win the MIAA title. Rachel Davis of Central Oklahoma finished in second with Lacie Lindner of Nebraska-Kearney coming in third. In the men’s race Ryan Cox set a new meet record with a 3:44.61 breaking a record set by Brennan Benkert of MSSU in 2010. Vincent Kiprop of Missouri Southern finished second with Cole Wellnitz of Nebraska-Kearney rounding out the top three.
In the women’s 100-meter hurdles Courtney Nelson of Pittsburg State set a 13.35 pace to earn the league championship. Her teammate Emilyn Dearman finished second with Morgan Smith of Missouri Southern coming in third. At the men’s 110-meter distance Justice Burks of Pittsburg State finished in 14.14 to earn the league crown. Dustin Ellis of Northwest Missouri finished in second with Darran Hunter of Lincoln coming in third.
In the women’s 400-meter dash Mary Bergman of Southwest Baptist turned in a 53.07 to claim the title. Also earning All-MIAA honors were Fort Hays State’s Kelly Wycoff and Central Missouri Emily Thole. In the men’s 400-meter dash Faedian Royes of Lincoln set an MIAA meet record at 47.74 breaking a record held since 2014 by William Shell of Southwest Baptist. His teammate Miguel Barton finished second with Taysean Goodwin of Emporia State coming in third.
Next up was the women’s 100-meter dash with Imani Hutchinson winning the league championship by setting an 11.70 pace. Just one-tenth of second behind her was teammate Kelsey Lewis with Kimberly Bailey of Lincoln coming in third. In the men’s race Lincoln’s Robert Smith finished in 10.45 to win the championship. It was an all Lincoln podium as Stephen Rose finished second and Jakiel David earned All-MIAA honors in third.
In the women’s 800-meter dash Kailey Fuchs of Central Missouri finished in 2:09.92 to win the league title. Mary Carr of Southwest Baptist came in second and Pittsburg State’s Sarah Jewett rounded out the top three. In the men’s race Brett Meyer of Fort Hays State finished in 1:50.93 to earn the ten points. Thomas LaRoche of Emporia State came in second with Decano Cronin also of Fort Hays State came in third.
In the women’s 400-meter hurdles Emily Dearman turned in a 58.03 to win the league championship. Jordan Hammond of Northwest Missouri came in second with Shanice Clark of Lincoln finishing in third. In the men’s single revolution of the track Darran Hunter of Lincoln finished in 52.33 to win the MIAA title. Jared Page of Pittsburg State came in second with Emporia State’s Wyatt Sander coming in third.
In the women’s 200-meter dash Imani Hutchinson of Pittsburg State won her second title of the day with a 23.92 pace. Kimberly Bailey of Lincoln was also All-MIAA in second as was Mary Bergman of Southwest Baptist who was third. In the men’s race Fort Hays State’s Dillando Allotey finished in 20.903 to finish first with Miguel Barton of Lincoln coming in a 20.908 to finish second. Also from Lincoln Stephen rose rounded out the top three to earn All-MIAA status.
Next up was the 5,000-meter run as Shea Bonine of Fort Hays State ran a 17:54.56 to win the women’s race. Piper Misse of Pittsburg State finished second with Missouri Southern’s Cynthia Torres finishing in third overall. In the men’s race Missouri Southern’s Vincent Kiprop turned in a 14:27.34 to claim the MIAA title. Omar Es Slamouny of LIndenwood came in second with Jacob Klemz of Washburn rounding out the top three.
In the women’s 4x400-meter relay Southwest Baptist stood a top the podium with a 3:39.79 finish. Lincoln finished second with Central Missouri coming in third to earn All-MIAA status. In the men’s relay Lincoln broke their own record set in 2014 with a 3:09.70 finish to win the title. Emporia State finished second with Central Missouri rounding out the top three.
