Kansas City, Mo. – The quarterfinal round is up next for the MIAA Women’s Basketball Tournament which fires up in Kansas March 3-5 from Municipal Auditorium.
 
#3 Emporia State vs. #6 Fort Hays State
Third seeded Emporia State will face off with sixth seed Fort Hays State at 12 noon on March 3. The Lady Hornets are averaging a league best 80.2 points per game on offense while other teams scored 58.2 points per game against them. The Tigers are averaging 75.1 points per game while on defense they lead the league allowing 57.4 points per contest.
 
ESU is led by MIAA Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year Kelly Moten who is averaging 18.6 points and 4.6 assists per game. Addie Lackey is averaging 13.5 points per game while Kathryn Flott averages a double-double scoring 10.0 points per game while pulling down 10.2 rebounds per contest.
 
The Tigers are led Jill Faxon who is averaging 11.1 points per game while averaging 4.9 rebounds per game. On the glass Tatyana Legette is leading the way averaging 7.6 rebounds per game.
 
The winner will face off with the winner of #2 Central Missouri and #10 Southwest Baptist in the semifinal round on March 4 at 6 p.m. from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
 
#2 Central Missouri vs. #10 Southwest Baptist
In the second quarterfinal of the day second seeded Central Missouri will play tenth seed Southwest Baptist in a scheduled to tip-off 30 minutes after quarterfinal one. Entering the weekend UCM is averaging 71.5 points per game while allowing 58.4 points per game to their opponents. For the Bearcats they rank fifth in the league in offense at 71.3 points while they allow opponents 66.7 points per game.
 
The Jennies are led by Paige Redmond who is averaging 16.7 points and a team best 3.8 assists per game. On the glass MIAA All-Defensive Team member Kayonna Lee is leading the way averaging 9.2 rebounds per game.
 
The Bearcats are led by Megan Rosenbohm who is averaging 16.9 points per game while dishing out 2.1 assists per contest. Caylee Richardson is also averaging in double figures with 11.6 points per game and a team best 7.0 rebounds per game.
 
The winner will face off with the winner of #3 Emporia State and #6 Hays State in the first semifinal at 6 p.m. on March 4 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. 
 
#1 Pittsburg State vs. #9 Lindenwood
Top seed Pittsburg State will open the evening session of quarterfinal Friday with a 6 p.m. match-up against ninth seed Lindenwood. The Gorillas are averaging a league second best 75.7 points per game while opponents average 58.8 against them. The Lions are averaging 69.4 points per contest while their opponent averages 69.6 per game.
 
The Gorillas are led by first team All-MIAA selection Mikaela Burgess who is averaging 17.5 points per game. She is joined in double figures by Madison Northcutt who is averaging 11.6 points per game with a team best 11.6 rebounds per game.
 
The Lions are led by MIAA Freshman of the Year Kallie Bildner who is averaging 15.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Also in double figures is Gabby Walker who is averaging 10.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest.
 
The winner will face the winner #4 Missouri Western and #5 Central Oklahoma in the second semifinal on March 4 with a tip 30 minutes after the previous semifinal from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. 
 
#4 Missouri Western vs. #5 Central Oklahoma
Fourth seeded Missouri Western will take fifth seeded Central Oklahoma in the final quarterfinal of the day scheduled for 30 minutes after quarterfinal number three. The Griffons enter the weekend averaging 71.3 points per game while they allow a league third lowest 58.3 points per game. The Bronchos are averaging 69.3 points per game while opponents average 58.8 per game against them.
 
The Griffons are led by first team All-MIAA selection Chelsea Dewey who is averaging 13.3 points and a team best 4.3 assists per game. Dwanisha Tate is also averaging in double figures with 12.3 points per game while Julia Torres leads the way on the glass with 7.1 rebounds per contest.
 
The Bronchos are led by first team All-MIAA selection Melinda Murillo who Is averaging 14.5 points per game. Olivia Mason is averaging  11.2 points, Jesheon Cooper 10.9 points and Marley Anderson 10.3 points per game.
