Kansas City, Mo. – Missouri Western’s Kailey Green has been named the MIAA Softball Hitter of the Week with Southwest Baptist’s Kacey Ayers-Evans being named Pitcher of the Week.
MIAA Hitter of the Week
Kailey Green, 1B, Missouri Western
Green hit four home runs, drove in seven and went 5-for-6 at the plate in a doubleheader sweep of Lindenwood last week. She also scored four runs and totaled seven bases. Overall, she hit .833, slugged .2.833 and had an .857 on base percentage on the night. The 5-7 senior first baseman is a native of Kearney, Mo. where she competed at Kearney High School.

MIAA Pitcher of the Week
Kacey Ayers-Evans, P, Southwest Baptist
Kacey led the Bearcats to a 3-1 record over the week, going 2-0 with a 0.57 ERA in the circle. Ayers threw a complete game shutout in a 8-0 victory at Central Missouri, allowing four hits to go along with a pair of strikeouts. In SBUs non-conference victory over Missouri S&T Ayers allowed only 1 run across 7.0 innings to go along with 9 strikeouts. On the week Ayers held opponents to a .190 batting average, without allowing an extra base hit, to go along with 12 strikeouts. The senior pitcher is a native of Lamar, Mo. where she competed at Liberal High School.
