Kansas City, Mo. – The site shifts to Kansas City and Municipal Auditorium on March 2 as the MIAA Men’s Basketball Tournament moves into the quarterfinal round.
 
#3 Nebraska-Kearney vs. #6 Washburn
In the first of four quarterfinals scheduled for a 12 p.m. tip-off as third seeded Nebraska-Kearney faces off with sixth seeded Washburn. The Lopers enter the game averaging 82.1 points per game and allowing 75.8 to their opponents. Washburn is averaging 78.2 points per game a allowing 69.1 on the year.
 
For the Lopers first team All-MIAA selection Trey Lansman is leading the way averaging 19.4 points and a team best 8.2 rebounds per game. Ty Danielson is averaging 13.5 points, Isaiah McKay 13.0 points and Yashua Trent 12.4 points per contest this season.
 
The Ichabods are led by MIAA Defensive Player of the Year Brady Skeens who is averaging a double-double with 14.1 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. Cameron Wiggins and Javion Blake are also in double figures averaging 12.6 and 12.1 points per game respectively.
 
The winner will face off with the winner of #2 Central Missouri and #7 Central Oklahoma in the 12 p.m. semifinal on March 4 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
 
#2 Central Missouri vs. #7 Central Oklahoma
The 2:30 p.m. quarterfinal will feature second seeded Central Missouri facing off with seventh seeded Central Oklahoma. The Mules enter the game averaging 74.0 points per game an allowing just 66.0 points per contest. The Bronchos are sixth in the league in scoring 74.4 points while opponents score 70.5 points against them.
 
The Mules are led by Spencer Reaves, who earned second team All-MIAA honors, who is averaging 17.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Kyle Wolf is averaging 11.2 points while MIAA All-Defensive team member Marquiez Lawrence averages a team best 6.5 rebounds.
 
For the Bronchos second team All-MIAA selection Corbin Byford is averaging 11.9 points and a team best 7.0 rebounds per game. Josh Holliday is the team’s leading scorer averaging 13.1 points while Jake Hammond averages 10.8 points and Marquis Johnson 10.6 points per game.
 
The winner will face off with the winner of #3 Nebraska-Kearney and #6 Washburn in the 12 p.m. semifinal on March 4 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
 
#1 Northwest Missouri vs. #9 Lincoln
The evening session will open with a 6 p.m. tip-off between top seeded Northwest Missouri and ninth seeded Lincoln. The Bearcats are averaging 80.3 points per game and have the league’s top defense allowing 61.6 points per game. The Blue Tigers are fifth in the league in scoring averaging 76.7 points while opponents average 72.1 points per game against them.
 
The Bearcats are led by MIAA Player of the Year Justin Pitts who is averaging 19.3 points and dishing out 5.3 assists per contest. Also in double figures are Chris-Ebou Ndow who averages 13.0 points and 6.2 rebounds and Zach Schneider who averages 10.3 points per game.
 
The Blue Tigers are led by first team All-MIAA selection Anthony Virdure who is averaging 21.9 points and a team best 4.2 assists per game. Also in double figures is Jaylon Smith who is averaging 20.8 points and a team best 6.4 rebounds per contest.
 
The winner will take on the winner of #4 Missouri Southern and #5 Fort Hays State in a 2:30 p.m. semifinal on March 4 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
 
#4 Missouri Southern vs. #5 Fort Hays State
The final quarterfinal of the day, which is scheduled for 8:30 p.m., will feature fourth seeded Missouri Southern and fifth seeded Fort Hays State. The Lions have the best scoring offense in the league averaging 82.1 points while allowing 8.1 points per game on the year. The Tigers average 74.1 points per game while opponents average 69.4 points against them.
 
The Lions are led by second team All-MIAA selection CJ Carr who averages 19.2 points and 5.6 assists per game while JJ Cratit averages 14.6 points on the season. MIAA Freshman of the Year Elyjah Clark averages 14.0 points per game and LJ Ross averages 11.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
 
The Tigers are led by first team All-MIAA selection Rob Davis who is averaging 21.5 points per game. Hadley Gillum is averaging 13.7 poinst and 6.5 rebounds while MIAA all-defensive team member JaQuan Smith leads the way with 6.6 rebounds.
