Kansas City, Mo. – Missouri Western’s Taylor Hamilton has been named the MIAA/AstroTurf Softball Hitter of the Week while Emmie Robertson of Pittsburg State and Kendle Schieber of Northwest Missouri were named Co-Pitchers of the Week.

Taylor Hamilton, C, Missouri Western
Hamilton had an unbelievable week at the plate, hitting six home runs, two of them walk-offs, driving in 17 and batting .522. The freshman had two, two-home run games on the week and hit game-winning home runs in both games of the Fort Hays State doubleheader. She had 10 RBIs Saturday against Fort Hays State and her two home runs in game two at Northwest Missouri helped force extra innings in what was eventually her teams only loss of the week (5-1). On the week, she had 12 hits, seven for extra bases, slugged 1.348 and had a .522 on base percentage. The 5-9 freshman catcher is a native of Cameron, Mo. where she competed at Cameron High School.

Emmie Robertson, P, Pittsburg State
Robertson finished the week with a 3-0 record with a save. She earned earned wins over Southwest Baptist, Lindenwood and Lincoln and earned the save, throwing two innings of relief in game two at Southwest Baptist. Robertson gave up only one run in 19.0 innings on the week, while striking out 23 batters and walking only two. Robertson finished the week with a .162 opponent batting average, surrendering only 11 hits in the four games. Only two of those 11 hits were for extra bases. The 5-9 sophomore pitcher is a native of Lamar, Mo. where she competed at Lamar High School.

Kendle Schieber, P, Northwest Missouri

Kendle Schieber helped the Bearcats to a 5-1 week in conference action, accumulating a 1.05 ERA through 20 innings of work. The senior finished with a record of 3-1 after making three starts, finishing two complete game three-hitters. Schieber held opponents to a .183 batting average, posting a minuscule 0.75 WHIP and allowing just three earned runs. The senior pitcher is a native of Conception Junction, Mo. where she competed at Jefferson C-123 High School.
