Kansas City, Mo. – Central Oklahoma men’s shot eight under par to gain the lead while the Northeastern State women built on the lead in the second round of the MIAA Golf Championships.
For the men UCO was eight shots under par with a 280 to wrestle away the lead through 36 holes on the par 72, 6,977 yard Tiffany Greens Golf Club. Lindenwood and Central Missouri both charged to the end to finish tied for second at 19 over par.
Lincoln’s Blake Lammers remained the leader shooting even par to stay at two under for the tournament. Ryan Dyck of Lindenwood and Coy Troutman of Central Oklahoma both shot three under par to move up to second place at one under par. Teddy Jones was also three under par taking sole possession of fourth place at one over part. Fort Hays State’s Lane Pauls, Nebraska-Kearney’s Max Rudder and Central Oklahoma’s Logan Gray are all two over par and tied for fifth. Central Oklahoma’s Eric Kline shot the low round of the day turning in a 67 to sit at three over for the tournament.
In the women’s tournament Northeastern State built on their lead as they sit 29 strokes over par which is 28 strokes ahead of second place at the par 72, 5,893 yard Swope Memorial Golf Course. Central Oklahoma enters the final day in second at 57 over par while Lindenwood sits in third at 70 over par.
Baylee Price of Northeastern State turned in an even par second round to stay at one under par for the tournament. Elizabeth Leath of Central Missouri and Ebba Moberg of NSU each shot three over par and stayed tied for second at eight over. Kelsey Lumpkin of NSU sits alone in fourth place after a three over 79 lands her at 10 over par. Madelyn Piccininni of Lindenwood and Kayla Schroeder of Northeastern State round out the top five.
Teams are scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. start to the final round of competition on Wednesday.
