All of the MIAA baseball teams are scheduled to get start this week as the season starts to get into full swing.

Upcoming MIAA Previews:
#22 Central Missouri stays on the road  
Record: 2-2, 0-0 MIAA 
Team Stats: Batting Average .179, ERA 3.25
#22 Central Missouri will face off with #9 Southern Arkansas and Lincoln this week in non-league action away from home. At the plate Trevor Jones is hitting .375 and Tony Sandifer has driven in four runs. On the mound Tyler House is 1-0 with 1.12 earned run average and Lucas Williams is 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA.

Central Oklahoma plays three prior to home opener
Record: 0-3, 0-0 MIAA 
Team Stats: Batting Average .260, ERA 8.25
Central Oklahoma will travel to Hays for a couple games with Regis and one with Colorado Mines prior to their home opener this week. At the plate for the Bronchos Ethan Elroy is hitting .444 with one run batted in and Isaac Hellbusch is hitting .333 with two home runs and six RBI. On the mound Ricky Reeves is 0-1 with a 3.60 earned run average.
 
#6 Emporia State stays at home
Record: 3-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .393, ERA 2.33
#6 Emporia State will continue a six game homestand against Bemidji State. At the plate MIAA Hitter of the Week Price Jacobs is hitting .733 with two home runs, five runs scored and four runs driven in. Tory Bell is hitting .500 with three home runs and eight runs driven in. On the mound Garrett Brummett is 1-0 allowing just one hit and striking out five in his first start.

Fort Hays State opens with three at home
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA 
2014 Team Stats: Batting Average .303, ERA 7.76  
Fort Hays State will open their season until Feb. 13 with three at home. The top returner at the plate for the Tigers is Kevin Czarnecki who hit .350 with eight home runs and 43 runs batted in. On the mound Austin Unrein was 3-3 with a 7.73 ERA.

Lincoln begins the year against ranked teams
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
2014 Team Stats: Batting Average .212, ERA 10.08
Lincoln will face two teams ranked in the top 25 when they begin play on Feb. 14. The top returner at the plate for the Blue Tigers is Kaleb Davis who hit .211 with three home runs and 11 runs batted in. On the mound Gus Goodnight had a 9.12 ERA in 24.2 innings pitched.

Lindenwood stays out of the road
Record: 2-5, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .312, ERA 6.67
Lindenwood will travel to Alabama for three games prior to league play. At the plate Wade Rothermich is hitting .400 with five runs scored and four runs driven in. On the mound Connor Law is 1-1 with a 1.93 earned run average in three appearances out of the pen. 

Missouri Southern starts on Feb. 14
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
2014 Team Stats: Batting Average .292, ERA 3.86
Missouri Southern will open the season Feb. 14 in a series with Upper Iowa. The top returner at the plate is Evin Natick who hit .386 with 19 runs batted in for the Lions. On the mound Payton Walker went 5-5 with a 3.41 earned run average and 59 strikeouts.

Missouri Western takes the week off
Record: 3-4, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .250, ERA 3.38
Missouri Western will take the week off before league play begins. At the plate Cosimo Canella is hitting .417 with five runs scored and driven in. On the mound Richard Peoples, A.J. Martiinez and Banks Born each won games during the first two weeks.

Nebraska-Kearney goes on road trip
Record: 4-3, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .243, ERA 3.51
Nebraska-Kearney will open a long road trip this week. At the plate for the Lopers Kyle Honeycutt is hitting .438 with one home run and seven runs batted in. MIAA Pitcher of the Week Dalton Cowen is 1-0 with a 1.38 earned run average in two starts.

Northeastern State plays PSU in non-league action
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
2014 Team Stats: Batting Average .290, ERA 5.56
Northeastern State will play a home and home with Pittsburg State in non-league action. At the plate in the RiverHawks only game Gabriel Wurth was two for four with a run scored. On the mound Kyle Shambaugh got the win in relief.

Northwest Missouri stay out on the road
Record: 1-2, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .330, ERA 6.58
Northwest Missouri will play Cameron on the road. At the plate Nick Howard is hitting .625 with two home runs and 10 RBI. On the moudn Brad Roberts is 1-0 with a 6.75 earned run average in one start.

Pittsburg State faces NSU in non-league action
Record: 2-2, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats:  Batting Average .235, ERA 5.51
Pittsburg State will face NSU in non-league action. At the plate Andrew Kreiling is hitting .538 with five runs scored. On the mound Dylan Donley and Blaine Fisher picked up wins in the first week.

Southwest Baptist opens season at home
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
2014 Team Stats: Batting Average .321, ERA 6.42
Southwest Baptist will open the year at home on Feb. 13. Top returner at the plate for the Bearcats is Chance Wolfe who hit .366 with three home runs and 36 RBI. On the mound Cory Borsh was 6-2 with a 3.86 earned run average.

Washburn starts things at home
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
2014 Team Stats:  Batting Average .297, ERA 4.62  
Washburn begins their season Feb. 13 in Topeka. At the plate the Ichabods return Kyle Carnahan who hit .395 with 37 runs batted in and 43 runs scored. On the mound Maustin Otterstatter went 4-4 with 3.00 ERA out of the pen.
