Kansas City, Mo. – Top seed Central Missouri shot .566 from the field as they defeated ninth seed Northeastern State 79-65 in the quarterfinal round of the MIAA Tournament. UCM led by just two at halftime, but got seven second half three pointers to advance to the semi-final round.
For the Jennies BreAnna Lewis led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds and Keuna Flax had 17 points and eight boards. Shelby Winkelmann had 16 points and Quinnecia Twine finished with 12 points on the afternoon. For the RiverHawks Chelsey Beathard led the way with 15 points and also added five assists. Fontana Tate added 10 points and pulled down eight boards while Che’Ron Lewis had 10 points.
Central Missouri advances to face the winner of #4 Missouri Southern and #5 Fort Hays State at 12:00 p.m. on March 8 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
