With many teams games cancelled this weekend, most MIAA baseball squads will wait for warmer weather.

Upcoming MIAA Previews:
#19 Central Missouri hits the road after going 2-2
Record: 2-2, 0-0 MIAA 
Team Stats: Batting Average .241, ERA 2.65
#19 Central Missouri travels to Ouachita Baptist after going 2-2 in week one. At the plate Trevor Jones hit .429 with four runs scored, stole five bases and drove in four runs along with Tony Sandifer. On the mound Ricky Rivera and Jake Heissler both picked up wins while allowing no runs over five innings.

Central Oklahoma waits two weeks to open season
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA 
Team Stats: Batting Average .296, ERA 5.30
Central Oklahoma will not open their season until facing Arkansas-Fort Smith at home Feb. 14-16. At the plate last season Cesar Wong hit .358 with a .435 on base percentage and Matt Johnson hit .315 with 10 home runs and 50 runs batted in. On the mound Mason Justice was 5-2 with a 4.73 earned run average in six starts.
 
Emporia State opens wait for next scheduled contest
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .290, ERA 4.66
Emporia State have had their season opening series cancelled with their next scheduled game on Feb. 19. Last season at the plate Todd Schultz hit .319 with 21 runs driven in and eight doubles. On the mound Kevin Shaffer went 3-3 with a 2.89 ERA while Dakota McKaskle went 6-5 with a 3.39 ERA in 11 starts.

Fort Hays State opens the season at home in one week
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA 
Team Stats: Batting Average .341, ERA 6.70 
Fort Hays State are next scheduled to play Feb. 12 against Bethany. At the plate last season Jordan Miller hit .390 with 13 stolen bases and Horace Johnson hit .336 with nine home runs and 34 RBI. On the mound Nathan Briar was 1-1 with a 7.66 ERA in 13 appearances.

Lincoln waits for first road trip
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .273, ERA 9.19   
Lincoln are scheduled to open the season Feb. 14 against Nebraska-Kearney. At the plate last season Ben Stewart hit .361 with four home runs and 21 RBI. Joe Jungmeyer was 2-2 with a 5.76 earned run average on the mound last season.

Lindenwood heads to Harding in second week
Record: 2-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .270, ERA 1.12
Lindenwood went 2-0 at Christian Brothers to open the season. At the plate Wade Rothermich is hitting .625 with two runs scored and one driven in. On the mound Austin Klein won his first start going four innings with a 4.50 ERA and five strikeouts.

Missouri Southern  waits for season opener on Feb. 15-16
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .298, ERA 4.34    
Missouri Southern opens their season Feb. 15-16 at home against Minnesota-Crookston. At the plate last season Tee Helsel hit .294 with 32 runs driven in. On the mound Payton Walker was 6-5 with a 3.50 earned run average in nine starts.

#17 Missouri Western has series cancelled, travel to Arkansas this weekend
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .361, ERA 4.91
#17 Missouri Western will face Arkansas Tech on the road to open the season. At the plate last season David Chew hit .250 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 56 at-bats. On the mound Jerad Hawkins was 6-2 with a 2.28 ERA in 16 total appearances, five of which were starts.

Nebraska-Kearney opens the season in Colorado
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .312, ERA 6.52   
Nebraska-Kearney is next scheduled to play Feb. 14 at Lincoln. In the batter’s box last season Brandon Landanger hit .364 with 32 runs scored. On the mound Joe Smidt was 4-3 with a 2.73 ERA out of the bullpen.

Northeastern State opens season on Feb. 11
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats: Batting Average .309, ERA 6.50
Northeastern State begins play on Feb. 11 at Southeastern Oklahoma State. At the plate Cody Robinson hit .308 with 16 home runs and 56 runs batted in. On the mound Kyle Shambaugh was 4-2 with a  4.73 earned run average in ten starts.

Northwest Missouri starts things off in week two
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA 
Team Stats:  Batting Average .295, ERA 5.99
Northwest Missouri will wait to week two to travel to Northwestern Oklahoma State.  At the plate last season Ryan Abernathy hit .319 with six home runs and 34 RBI. On the mound Ryker Fox was 5-5 with a 3.98 earned run average.

Pittsburg State opens season in Oklahoma Feb. 21-23
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats:  Batting Average .312, ERA 5.26  
Pittsburg State is now scheduled to open the season Feb. 21-23 against FHSU. At the plate last season Brad Foss hit .379 with 39 runs scored. On the mound George Brandecker was 6-4 with a 3.27 earned run average in 11 starts.

Southwest Baptist waits for Feb. 21 to play first game
Record: 0-0, 0-0 MIAA
Team Stats:  Batting Average .282, ERA 6.58   
Southwest Baptist opens the season at home Feb. 17 against Minnesota-State Mankato. At the plate Spencer Blacksher hit .349 with six home runs and 38 RBI. On the mound Cole Roark was 3-2 with a 6.54 earned run average.

Washburn waits for league play to come around

Team Stats:  Batting Average .280, ERA 7.79  
Washburn will wait for league play to come around on Feb. 21 to begin their season. At the plate last season Riley Price hit .370 with 32 RBI and 21 runs scored. On the mound Taylor Gentry was 3-2 with a 4.20 earned run average.
