Hays, Kan. -- Nebraska-Kearney would earn their second straight MIAA Wrestling Tournament title while Lindenwood took second place and Central Oklahoma finishing third.

Cory Dauphin of Central Oklahoma was named the MIAA Wrestler of the Year after winning the championship at 157 pounds. Jon Inman, who finished second at 184 pounds was named the MIAA Freshman of the Year. Lindenwood's Chad Smith was named the MIAA Coach of the Year, leading his team to a second place finish.

125 Pounds
Marco Tamayo, Lindenwood vs. Connor Bolling, Nebraska-Kearney
Marco Tamayo started the scoring as he brought down Bolling half way through the first period. Bolling would answer by getting an escape with 1:41 remaining the first frame. Bolling took the bottom training 2-1 going into the second period and immediatly got an esape to tie things up. Tamayo would add another two points with a second take-down early in the second to take a 4-2 advantage. Bolling would earn an escape with 0:43 to wrestle in the second to cut the lead to 4-3 overall. Tamayo would take the bottom to open the third period and would grab the escape early to take a 5-3 lead. Tamayo would get a take-down with under a minute to go and that is all he would need to take the victory. Another escape by Bolling would but the lead to three but with over a minute of ride time and a second take-down Tamayo would earn the 10-4 win to claim the conference championship. For third place Lawson Ludwin of Fort Hays State defeated Josh Breece of Central Oklahoma 9-6.

133 Pounds
Daniel DeShazer, UNK vs. Casy Rowell, UCO
DeShazer entered the match as the nation's top ranked wrestler and defending national champion at 133 pounds. Rowell finished fifth at the National Championships during the 2013 season. The two evenly matched wrestlers would be even at 0-0 through one period. Rowell would chose the bottom entering the second period and would pick up an escape point. DeShazer would get the match's first takedown with 25 seconds to go in the period to take a 2-1 lead. Rowell would get an escape with less than ten seconds and they would remain even tied 2-2 heading to the third. DeShazer would begin the third period in the down position and would escape with 122 remaining in the match to take a 3-2 lead. Rowell would quickly answer with a takedown, taking a 4-3 advantage. An escape by DeShazer with under a minute would bring things back to all square. Casey Rowell would get his second takedown with less than 15 seconds to win his second straight MIAA title at 133 pounds by a 6-5 decision. For third place Matt Katusin of Lindenwood pinned Hunter Neighbors of Central Missouri.

CJ Napier, FHSU vs. Brock Coutu, UNK
CJ Napier entered the match ranked number four in the latest national poll. The two would go through the first period with no score. Napier would then utilize an escape seven seconds into the second period to take a 1-0 lead. Napier would finish off a takedown with just 10 seconds left as he would take a 3-0 leads into the third period. Coutu would earn an escape less than ten seconds into the third frame, cutting the Napier lead to just two. Coutu would then provide a takedown of his own around the 1:14 mark to tie the match up at 3-3. A penalty stalling call on Napier would give Coutu the 4-3 advantage. A reversal by Napier late in the third period would give him a 7-4 victory and the MIAA Championship. For third place Dustin Reed of Central Oklahoma defeated Kyle Webb of Lindenwood with an 8-2 decision.

149 Pounds
Frank Cagnina vs. Destin McCauley, UNK
Just 38 seconds into the match the number one wrestler in the nation Frank Cagnina would pin McCauley to earn the MIAA Championship. For third place Terrel Wilbourn of Lindenwood defeated Jordan Basks of Central Oklahoma by a 6-1 decision.

157 Pounds
Cory Dauphin, UCO vs. Chase White, UNK
Cory Dauphin would jump out in front with just over a minute to go in the first period with a two-point takedown. White would answer with time expiring in the period with an escape making the score 2-1 going to the second. The first back points of the match would be awarded with 1:00 to go in the second giving Dauphin at 4-1 advantage. An escape for Dauphin to open the third period would make it a 5-1 advantage for him. Dauphin earned another takedown with just over a minute to go to take a 7-1 lead. An escape for White would make it 7-2 with 25 seconds to go in the match. Adding ride time Dauphin would earn the MIAA Championship with an 8-2 victory. For third place Derrick Weller of Lindenwood defeated Zeb Spicer of Central Missouri 9-4 in the match.

165 Pounds
Brock Smith, UNK vs. Chase Watson, UCO
Brock Smith would get the scoring started with a takedown at 1:46 for the 2-0 lead. Watson would then earn an escape and make it a 2-1 advantage. Smith would grab a second takedown of the first period to give himself a 4-1 lead. Another escape for Watson would make it 4-2 with less than a minute remaining in the first. Watson would choose to start the second period in the down position earning an escape to make the lead 4-3. Smith would then earn a takedown late in the second period, to end things at 6-3 going tot he third. Watson would pick up a takedown of his own with 1:10 to go in the match to make it a 6-5 lead. Smith would hold on to pick up the MIAA Championship by a 6-5 advantage. For third place Ty Loethen of Central Missouri defeated Luke Roth of Lindenwood 7-3. 

174 Pounds
Patrick Martinez, UNK vs. Josh Rodriguez, FHSU
The two would wrestle to a scoreless tie during the first period. Martinez would then earn the first point four seconds in the second period with an escape. That point would hold up with Martinez taking a 1-0 advantage into the third period. Rodriguez would answer to start the third period picking up a one point escape. Martinez would get a point on a stalling call to take a 2-1 lead with just under a minute to go. That lead would hold up as Martinez would win the MIAA Championship. For third place Josh Thomson would earn an 11-3 major decision over Morgan Fitzgerald of Lindenwood.

184 Pounds
John McArdle, LWU vs. Jon Inman, UNK
Jon Inman would earn two points with a takedown before one point was earned by McArdle. Inman would get a second takedown with just over a minute to go to take a 4-1 lead, but an escape for McArdle would make it 4-2. Nearing the end of the first period McArdle would grab his first takedown to make it 4-4 heading to the second. McArdle would earn an escape, following by an Inman takedown, and another McArdle escape in a flurry that lead to the score being tied 6-6 in the second. McArdle would then go on the offensive with a takedown and an escape by Inman would make it 8-7 before an Inman takedown would make it 9-8 going into the third. Inman would open the scoring in the third with an escape to make it 10-8 overall. He would then get a takedown and back points to take a 14-8 advantage with less than a minute to go. However with 26 seconds to go, John McArdle would pin Inman and erase his lead to earn the MIAA Championship.
For third place Znick Ferrell of Central Oklahoma earned a 10-3 victory over Mark Fiala of Nebraska-Kearney.

197 Pounds
Romero Cotton, UNK vs. Tanner Kriss, FHSU
Tanner Kriss of Fort Hays State would injury default to Romero Cotton giving him the MIAA Championship. For third place Kenny Breaux of Lindenwood earned a 2-1 defeat of Garrett Henshaw of Central Oklahoma.

285 Pounds
Steven Butler, LWU vs. Jack Page, FHSU
The two wrestlers would battle to a scoreless tie in the first period. Jack Page would earn the first points of the match in the second with an escape. Butler would earn his first point of the match with an escape to open the third period. Butler would earn a takedown with 30 seconds to go to take a 3-1 lead and Page would earn the escape to make it 3-2 late in the period. A late takedown would give Butler a 5-2 victory and the MIAA Championship. For third place Cody Dauphin, UCO earned a 3-1 overtime victory over Kelsey Empting of Nebraska-Kearney.
