Kansas City, Mo. --
The battle to be the team atop the hill when league play ends heats up as MIAA football teams head into week six.

Nebraska-Kearney at Northeastern State
One team will be leaving with their first MIAA win of the season as Nebraska-Kearney makes the long trip south to Northeastern State. The Lopers are led by Bronson Marsh who is averaging 114.8 yards per game through the air with five touchdowns and 52.4 yards per game on the ground with two scores. Cougar Williams has hauled in two touchdown catches while Tityus Mitchell, Romero Cotton and Allen Sampson all have one catch for a score. On defense Tyke Kozeal leads the way with 70 tackles, 10 of which have come for a loss. The RiverHawks are led by Kevin Pantastico who has 1,066 yards through the air for four touchdowns and has also rushed for a score. Garrett Powell has 33 receptions for 390 yards and two touchdowns on the season. On defense Steffon Herd has a team best 37 tackles and Lane Dortch has made 33 stops.

Northwest Missouri at Lindenwood
#1 Northwest Missouri will look to continue their winning streak as they travel down the road for a contest with Lindenwood. The Bearcats are led by Brady Bolles who is averaging 247.6 yards per game through the air with nine touchdowns and also has three touchdowns on the ground. Phil Jackon leads the team with six rushing touchdown while Robert Burton has scored five times on the ground. On defense they are led by Eric Reimer who has 35 tackles and a team best seven tackles for a loss. The Lions are led by Graham Lindman who has 452 yards passing and four touchdowns through two games. Jaron Alexander has 25 catches for 329 yards and two scores. MIAA Defensive Athlete of the Week Connor Harris has a team best 70 tackles and has picked off two passes.

Washburn at Central Missouri
Washburn will travel to Central Missouri in week six as the Mules look to pick up their fourth win of the season. UCM is led by LaVance Taylor who is averaging 138.2 yards per game rushing with 11 total touchdowns adding one receiving and one on a kick return. Hayden Hawk is averaging 236 yards per game passing with seven touchdowns and Kyle Echols has hauled in three touchdown catches. On defense Ricky Spratley has a team best 60 tackles and Alex Perlin has added 50 stops on the year. For the Ichabods Zeke Palmer has 603 yards passing with three touchdowns in two starts. Vershon Moore has rushed for 409 yards and three touchdowns with DaJuan Beard making four touchdown catches. On defense Calvin Keeney has 52 tackles with one pass interception.

Emporia State at Pittsburg State
Emporia State takes a two game winning streak on the road as they travel to Pittsburg State who looks to remain a one loss team. The Gorillas are led by Anthony Abenoja who is averaging 245.2 yards per game passing with nine touchdowns and MIAA Special Teams Athlete of the Week Connor Frazell is 9-12 on field goal attempts. Jeff Seybold has added two touchdowns on the ground and has caught three touchdown passes. On defense Tyler Disney has a team best 38 tackles and Deron Washington has picked off three passes. For the Hornets MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week Ty Reasnor has 196 yards passing and three touchdowns in one start this season. Austin Willis has hauled in 29 passes for 545 yards and six scores and Kavaski Ervin has 27 catches for 246 yards and four touchdowns. On defense Jason Tetuan has 32 tackles and Kadeem Satchell has picked off two passes.

Missouri Southern at Central Oklahoma
Central Oklahoma will be looking to pick up their fifth win of the season as they welcome Missouri Southern to town for the MIAA Television Network Game of the Week. The Bronchos are led by Chas Stallard who is averaging 211.2 yards per game passing with three touchdowns and adding three touchdowns on the ground. Jake Gandara is averaing 91.8 yards per game rushing with four scores. On defense Chass Glaspie has 40 total tackles and Cody Jones has picked off four passes this season. The Lions are led by Giresse Forchu who is averaging 56 yards per game rusing with a team best eight touchdowns. Michael Nelson has five rushing touchdowns and Scott Lathrop has passed for two and rushed for one score. On defense Gaige Washington has a team best 42 tackles on the year.

Missouri Western at Fort Hays State
Missouri Western and Fort Hays State will both be looking to pick up the fourth win of the season as the clash in Hays, Kan. on week five.  The Tigers are led by Trevon Albert who has 541 yards passing with five touchdowns and has also rushed for two scores. Edward Smith has three touchdowns on the ground and Ed Williams has hauled in two touchdown catches. On defense Brock Long has 41 tackles and Justin McPhail has 40 stops, 3.5 sacks and has picked off two passes.  The Griffons are led by the Raphael Spencer who is averaging 109.8 yards per game rushing with three touchdowns. Skyler Windmiller has passed for 492 yards and three scores on the year. On defense Stephen Juergens has 46 tackles and Michael Jordan has picked off three passes.
