It's rivalry week around the league as week nine approaches in MIAA football.

Fort Hays State at Nebraska-Kearney
Fort Hays State will look to get above .500 as they hit the road for Nebraska-Kearney in week nine play. The Tigers are led by Treveon Albert who has 1,217 passing yards and eight touchdowns along with 263 rushing yards and three scores. Ed Williams has 694 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Edward Smith has rushed for four scores. On defense Brock Long has 75 tackles and Justin McPhail has 74 stops including 7.5 for a loss. The Lopers are led by Bronson Marsh who has accounted for 18 total touchowns rushing for 10 and passing for eight. Cougar Williams has made three touchdown catches while Tityus Mitchell and Allen Sampson have each hauled in two scores. On the defensive side of the ball Tyke Kozeal leads the way with 102 tackles and George Brown has picked off two passes.

Emporia State at Washburn
The Turnpike Tussle will take to the Gridiron as Emporia State makes the trip up the road to Washburn. The Hornets are led by Braxton Marstall who has 348 yards passing with three touchdowns. Austin Willis has 699 receiving yards with six scores, Kavaski Ervin has 458 receiving yards with four scores and Antonio Brown has rushed for a team best 585 yards and five touchdowns. MIAA Defensive Athlete of the Week Deveon Dinwiddie has three interceptions and MIAA Special Teams Athlete of the Week Austin Morton has made nine field goals. The Ichabods are led by Zeke Palmer who has 1,162 yards passing with seven touchdowns and DaJuan Beard who has five touchdown catches. Vershon Moore has rushed for 616 yards and three scores. On defense Calvin Kenney has 89 tackles and an interception while Shay Wooten has added 47 stops and a pick off.

Missouri Western at #8 Northwest Missouri
#8 Northwest Missouri will look to stay a one loss team as they welcome Missouri Western to town in week nine. The Bearcats are led by Brady Bolles who has passed for 1,771 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushed for 228 yards and five scores. Robert Burton III has 338 yards rushing with eight touchdowns and Phil Jackson has rushed for six scores with Cameron Wilcox adding four touchdowns. On defense Eric Reimer leads the team with 47 tackles and Jared Fox has picked off three passes. The Griffons are led by Raphael Spencer who has 880 rushing yards and has found the endzone six times. Skyler Windmiller is 109 of 201 for 1,248 yards and five touchdowns through the air. On the defensive side of the ball Stephen Juergens has 70 tackles and Michael Jordan has picked off four passes.

Northeastern State at Central Oklahoma
Northeastern State will be looking for their first win as they travel to 6-2 Central Oklahoma in an all-Oklahoma clash. For the Bronchos MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week Chas Stallard has passed for 1,358 yards and six touchdown while rushing for a 528 yards and six scores. Jake Gandara is averaging 117.9 yards per game rushing with a team best nine scores while Connor Pulley has hauled in four scores. On defense Chass Glaspie leads the way with 70 tackles and Cody Jones has picked off four passes. The RiverHawks are led by Kevin Pantastico who has 1,598 passing yards with six touchdowns hitting Garrett Powell for four of those scores. Terrance Dixon has a team best two rushing touchdowns with Derrick Moore and Joel Rockmore each adding one score. On defense Steffon Herd has a team best 61 tackles and Kenneth Davis has made 48 stops.

Lindenwood at Central Missouri
Central Missouri will put their league best five game winning streak on the line as they welcome Lindenwood in the MIAA Television Network Game of the Week. The Mules are led by LaVance Taylor who is averaging 147.1 yards per game rushing with 12 touchdowns. Hayden Hawk has 1,796 yards passing with 10 touchdowns and has also rushed for seven scores while Kyle Echols has four touchdown catches. On defense Ricky Spratley has 73 total tackles and J.R. Alexander has picked off three passes. For the Lions Graham Lindman has 1,257 yards passing with seven touchdowns. Marvin Byrd has rushed for three scores and Jaron Alexander and Greg Coble each have two touchdown catches. On defense Connor Harris leads the league with 107 total tackles and has two interceptions.

#7 Pittsburg State at Missouri Southern
#7 Pittsburg State puts a four game winning streak to the test in a rivalry game as they make the short trip to face Missouri Southern. The Gorillas are led by Anthony Abenoja who is averaging 294.9 yards per game passing with 19 touchdowns adding two scores on the ground. Marquis Cushon has 789 yards receiving with four scores and Gavin Lutman has 733 yards receiving with eight touchdowns. On defense Spencer Brown has a team best 59 tackles and Deron Washington and De’Vante Bausby have picked off three passes each. The Lions have had six runners score more than two touchdowns on the ground led by Giresse Forchu who has 622 yards rushing and 12 scores. Shannon Saunders has six touchdowns while Michael Nelson has added five scores on the ground. On defense Johnquavious McBride has a team best 63 tackles and Michael Burks has picked off three passes.
