Kansas City, Kan. -- Missouri Western held on for a 9-3 victory in the second round of the MIAA Tournament, starting today in Kansas City, Kan.
The Griffons jumped on top getting six runs through the first three innings before cooling off at the plate. Central Oklahoma would rebound and put up two in the ninth before MWSU closed the door.

At the plate for the Griffons Michael Schulze was three for five with two runs scored and an RBI. Bubba Dotson went one for six, but his one hit was a three-run home run. Nate Ramler went two for three and scored two runs. Shawn Egge was two for four with two runs scored and two driven in. Brandon Simmons worked eight strong innings allowing four hits and one run while striking out five.
For the Bronchos Cesar Wong was three for three with a run scored and an RBI. Matt Johnson was one for four with a two run home run.
Missouri Western awaits the winner of Missouri Southern/Pittsburg State tomorrow at 11 a.m. Central Oklahoma will face the loser of that game tonight at 6 p.m.
