Kansas City, Mo. -- Central oklahoma got 11 hits and held Emporia State to just four as they earned a 4-3 win to take a 1-0 lead in their opening round series.

For the Bronchos Tyler Crabtree was three for four with a run scored and a run driven in. Matt Malloy went two for three with a run scored and one driven in. On the mound Edgar Lopez threw a complete game striking out nine and allowing just five baserunners.

For the Hornets David Richards and Zack Carlson each drove in runs while Ashton McCoy, Richards and Andrew Blackwell all scored one. On the mound Shawn Talking threw one inning of relief allowing just one hit as the Bronchos only came up with two hits over the final two innings.

The two teams will meet against tomorrow in an elmination game for ESU. The rest of the series in the MIAA Tournament are also slated to get underway tomorrow.
