Win nine straight in post-season to capture crown

Kansas City, Mo. -- It took extra innings but Central Oklahoma won their first ever Softball National Championship 5-2 over Kutztown. The Bronchos did not lose a game as they rolled through the NCAA Division II National Tournament winning nine straight to capture the crown.

UCO took an early lead in the top of the first inning. Kutztown would then answer in the bottom half of the fourth inning. The Bronchos would jump back on top 2-1 in the top of the seventh. With two outs and two strikes in the bottom half of the inning the Bears would answer with a run of their own. A clutch hit would help UCO to plate three in the top of the ninth inning and KU was unable to answer.

For the Bronchos Ally Dziadula was three for five with two runs scored including what proved to be the game winner. Kaylee Brunson was three for four with a run scored.

Kacie Edwards went two for five with four runs driven in and a run scored. Sam Cool went two for five with a run driven in and Tori Collet added a run scored. In the circle Kalynn Schrock went all nine innings allowing just five hits while striking out 14 total
